THEME SESSION / OPENING CEREMONY

The theme for the conference is 'Entrepreneurship in the 21st Century: Therole of Active Citizens’ Our Theme session this year parades a speaker andguests to dissect the theme of the conference. Expect to hear from JCISenator Benson Awomewe, Executive Director Japaul Oil and MaritimeServices Plc. Expect to meet great Nigerian's and network with them.Dress code for the opening ceremony is FORMAL.

THE TOPGUN 15 COURSE

The TOPGUN 15 Course seeks to expose participants to the concept of social Entrepreneurship, identify problems and take action in communities,develop action plans and project proposals. Before the advent of JCIcourses, the TOPGUN course was the choice course for very outstandingcollegiate members. The Kola Osinowo's, Banjo Okunuga, Kunle Sanusi,Jide Adeyemi, Stanley Nwosu, Tosin Ligali are all products of the TOPGUN days. The modules for the course, as approved by JCI University promisesto expose participants to skills they need ahead of their sojourn into theworld. The TOPGUN 15 is a 2 day course which cost only N6,000(HighlySubsidized) that covers accommodation, course materials and LunchBreaks. THE EFE KEN MEMORIAL SPEECH CONTEST

The conference parades the second edition of the EFE KEN MEMORIAL speech contest as we celebrate a man of honour in this year's specialedition powered by Flashy Stores.. EFE KEN was an active member of the Collegiate structure, a presidentUniben Jaycees never had, a professional photographer who used hisprofession to affect lives during his collegiate days. He was knocked downon his way from work while helping little children cross the ever busy Ph-Aba express road in Portharcourt, he was survived by a young wife and achild who he never saw before he died Collegiate local organisation are to register one participant who’s formshould have been submitted to collegiatecouncil.nigeria@yahoo.combefore 10th may. Participants will get plaques, certificates and someprizes to be unveiled soon.

THE JCI NIGERIA BUSINESS PLAN COMPETITION

The competition is intended to simulate the real-world process ofentrepreneurs soliciting start-up funds from early-stage investors andventure capital firms. The judges function as venture capital investorsdeciding on which business venture they would most likely fund. Thequality of the idea, the strength of the management team, and the clarityand persuasiveness of the written plan and oral presentation, all influence the judges’ decisions. Ultimately, the winner should be one in which the judges can most likelyinvest their money, knowing fully well through the evaluation that thesaid business can effectively survive long and strong enough to pay backthe ‘loan’ with time, and still remain active in business. The winner shall walk home with N50,000 cash prize that shall serve asan interest-free loan or grant for the start up of the winning business plan.This sum shall NOT be paid back to the organizers at any time. It ismandatory for the eventual winner to invest the prize into the businessas expected. Powered by Ozmosis Konsult GUIDELINESThe participants would need to submit the following documents foradmission into the competition. 1. A completed entry form.2. An executive summary.3. A business plan for the creation of a new business. The competition would be in two rounds. The first round would be anelectronic evaluation of the entries where the screening committee uponreceipt of the entries would choose the best 10 business plan entries. Thedeadline for submission is Friday 3 May, 2013. The final round scheduledfor Saturday 25 May, 2013 in Akure would afford the participants anopportunity to defend their business plan in a live presentation.

THE 2013 HEADING FOR THE FUTURE CONFERENCE (H4DF)

The conference parades the third edition of the H4DF conference. Theevent is expected to expose members in ND2, HND2, 400 level and aboveto skills they need to acquire before entering the corporate world.Participants will be in round table sessions with facilitators from differentworks of life. A table of 10 - 15 members will have a mentor at the egdesharing his life after school experience, lessons amongst others. Each participant will be required to do a winning CV before the event runs out.At the H4DF conference, you will get the opportunity to meet, interactwith and learn from real life experience at no cost. PICNIC AND PARTIES

The Collegiate conference picnic this year promises to be funfilled. Expectparties every night from Thursday. Expect a Friday of Northern foods likeKilishi, the Eastern foods like Ugba and the likes.

TRADE EXHIBITIONS

Members and organisations interested in making Exhibitions and sales atthe conference will be provided an opportunity at a fair price to showcasetheir products.

BANQUET AND AWARDS

The Collegiate conference Banquet as planned promises to be colourfuland memorable. The awards night provides an opportunity to rewardmembers, chapters, mentors and organisations that have beenoutstanding so far this year. The Award nomination committee will publish details soon.
